CBA suffers online banking outage

The bank acknowledge the problems in a tweet just before 7:30am AEDT on Monday morning, however customers first reported issues just under two hours earlier.

The outage is impacting both CBA’s NetBank app and website, as well as some visa credit cards transactions at businesses.

Many customers have reported being stranded at coffee shops unable to pay for morning coffees and struggling to transfer funds using online banking.

“We’re aware of an issue affecting non-CBA Visa credit card transactions at CBA merchant terminals and some payments in Netbank and CommBank app,” a spokesperson said.

“MasterCard and CBA cards are not impacted.

“We’re working to fix this as a priority and we apologise for any inconvenience.”

Update 12:55pm: CBA have advised that transfers and payments have started working in NetBank and on the CommBank app, however users are continuing to report issues.
