ASG will provide support services for the departments HR and financial systems, which covers over 35,000 public sector employees within the West Australian government.
Murray Rosa, general manager of ASG, told itnews the education market is a key focus for the firm.
"This contract along with our recent contract success at the Western Australian Office of Shared Services - confirms ASG's ability to deliver large scale projects in the application managed service market,” he said.
Rose said the service ASG has provided to the department is highly critical as they are the largest employer in the state.
Peter McCaffrey, the Department of Education and Training’s deputy director general, finance and administration, said that application support is one of the most critical and sensitive IT systems in education.
"The application ensures that our staff are paid on-time whilst accommodating the complex and numerous awards that exist within the Department," said McCaffrey.
The agreement with Western Australian Department of Education and Training follows ASG Group’s announcement last week that it has secured the contract to provide IT Service support for the Victorian Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS).
