ANZ Bank suffered a major outage of its internet banking service with users reporting problems for much of Monday.

The outage appears to have started just after 10am Sydney time and was not resolved until just before 8pm - resulting in 10 hours of downtime.
Earlier, users took to social media to complain about the issues, which the bank said on its Twitter account were “intermittent” and the IT team was working to fix “as a matter of priority”.
A statement on the bank’s main telephone line reported long waits due to a high volume of calls.
“Due to unforeseen technical difficulties our internet banking services are unavailable,” ANZ said.
“If you need to speak to one of our consultants please be aware this issue is impacting the wait times for your call to be answered.
“Alternatively you may wish to use our phone banking service which is available.”
Frustrated ANZ users who spoke to iTnews said the service had suffered similar faults in recent weeks.
Business customers reported being unable to complete transactions.
An ANZ spokesperson told iTnews that a "specialist team" was "working to resolve the matter, but cannot yet provide an estimated time for when this will happen."
"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause," the spokesperson said.
The bank encouraged customers to "access their banking through our app on their smartphone, tablet or wearable device."
The spokesperson did not disclose the reason for the outage.
