Adobe to begin its regular patching schedule from today

It has labelled this as a critical update and recommended users be prepared to apply the update for their product installations. Details of where to download updates will be posted to Adobe's Security Bulletins and Advisories support page later today.

Arkin wrote in a blog post: “This is the first quarterly security update for Adobe Reader and Acrobat, and incorporates the initial output of code hardening efforts.”

Adobe claimed that it was planning to ‘release security updates for all major supported versions and platforms of Adobe Reader and Acrobat on a quarterly basis' in May, with Arkin claiming that this was part of an increased security effort.

The update also coincides with Microsoft's Patch Tuesday security update, details of which were confirmed last week.
