Dell Computer takes us backstage at U2's latest tour to see how its rack-mounted workstations are powering the band's stunning visual displays.
First - some background. U2 started working on the 360 degree tour at the end of its Vertigo tour, looking for the "next big thing" in concert entertainment. The concept they came up with was a show in the round with a 360 degree screen, dangling from 50 metre high claws. The theory is, this gives just about every seat in the house a decent view. Sending live and pre-edited images to that screen is where Dell steps in....
