Teams at a show in Singapore are battling to win the title of the city-state's best hacker.

The BlackOPS: HackAttack Challenge 2004 takes place today (Friday) and tomorrow, and is organised by the government-funded National Infocomm Competency Center.

Teams are being asked to "penetrate, exploit, gain access and obtain privileged information from the other teams' servers, for the purpose of corporate espionage", according to the event's website.

Teams score points for each successful exploit, and lose when their own systems are brought down.

The star prize for the winner is $5000 worth of training vouchers, and two Iomega DVD burners.
