Pointsec enhances mobile security toolkit
Security firm Pointsec has released Pointsec for Symbian 3.0 S60 Edition, the latest version of its security offering delivering strong data protection and access control for business users with Nokia E series handsets based on the S60 platform.

Supported models include the Nokia E50, E60, E61, E62 and E70, and all support data stored on S60 devices using real-time encryption.

The security toolkit allows sensitive information to be automatically encrypted and decrypted on the fly with no user interaction, while remaining Open Mobile Alliance compliant.

Pointsec also offers tools for the centralised administration of encryption, so that users who accidentally lock their devices can regain access by calling their helpdesk.

"Mobile service providers and organisations with large mobile workforces are looking for a unified approach to managing wireless clients, including device security, connectivity and mission-critical mobile applications," said Peter Larsson, chief executive at Pointsec Mobile Technologies.

"The Open Mobile Alliance provides a solid, future-proof framework to meet this challenge."
