Microsoft has re-released a critical security update known as MS08-051.

Microsoft has re-released a critical security update known as MS08-051.

A Volish bulletin explained that the company had mistakenly posted an incomplete version of the critical Powerpoint update to its download center.

However, users that automatically downloaded the patch via Windows Update or Windows Server Update apparently received the correct version.

The Redmond giant also warned users who could not immediately replace the flawed patches to "manually set the registry key in order to block Powerpoint file types as a workaround".

MS08-051 was one of 11 recent security bulletins that fixed a grand total of 26 bugs. ยต
