Jerry Seinfeld to pitch Vista

By

Some bright spark in Microsoft's marketing department has apparently decided that the what will turn around flagging Vista sales is for it to be pitched by Jerry Seinfeld.

Jerry Seinfeld to pitch Vista
According to the Wall Street Journal, the well known stand up comic will be spearheading a US$300 million campaign by Miami based agency Crispin, Porter & Bogusky.

Seinfeld will reportedly be snatching up $10 million for his part in the push, which isn't exactly small change for anyone, and given we haven't seen Jerry around for some time now (although we did hear his voice in B movie), it should come as a welcome boost to his bank balance.

Apparently he will be appearing next to Bill Gates in something that sounds suspiciously like a counter attack to the 'I'm a PC and I'm a Mac' ads.

How well Vista is doing is a matter of some contention, but with some reports suggesting that many users are 'downgrading' from Vista to XP, combined with the growth of alternative operating systems, it's clear that Microsoft has to do something to rectify the situation.

However we're pretty sure that most users would rather our Microsoft friends pumped the US$300 million into speeding up the development of Windows 7, than use arguably funny comics to try flog the flailing Vista.
