A new online store bearing the Harvey Norman logo has quietly crept onto the web.

A new online store purportedly owned by Harvey Norman has appeared on the web, providing daily deals on an eclectic range of consumer products.

The Big Buys website offers a new deal each day with a 24 hour countdown timer; using a model similar to the website cudo.com.au.

The deals offered over the past few days have ranged from miniature garden beds to women’s cosmetics; which are not the typical Harvey Norman fare.

Curiously, the official Harvey Norman website makes no mention of the Big Buys site and the company has yet to issue a press release.

However, we can report that the domain name was registered by Harvey Norman Retailing Pty Ltd, which would seem to suggest it is legitimate.

“Harvey Norman BiG BUYS offers you a fantastic new deal online every day. We source the best products at fantastic prices, so we’re able to pass these bargains on to you,” the website explains.

To keep abreast of each daily deal, customers are invited to sign up for a newsletter, an RSS Feed or a Facebook page. You can also follow the site on Twitter.

Late last month, Gerry Harvey, executive chairman of Harvey Norman, announced his plans to enter the online retail space, promising that the online store would launch within a few weeks.

“By this time next year you'll see Harvey Norman with a pretty sizeable internet presence," Harvey stated.

At the time of writing, all products offered on the webpage are listed as sold out.
