Networking solutions company D-Link and Swedish IT security supplier Clavister are to team up to produce firewalls.

D-Link hopes to use the technological know-how of Clavister to boost sales, which are expected to grow in the security industry over the next five to six years.

The first products will be launched in January 2004. The initial range will comprise the DFL-700, built for small and medium-sized businesses, and the DFL-1100, which is aimed at larger companies.

D-Link is currently a supplier of broadband routers and VPN solutions.
