CA buys anti-spam maker

By

Computer Associates has acquired anti-spam supplier Qurb in an all-cash deal. Terms were not disclosed.

CA's acquisition of Qurb, a privately held firm based in San Mateo, Calif., comes on the heels of its acquisition of desktop firewall maker Tiny Software.

Both acquisitions boost CA's reach into the small and midsize markets but also provide its enterprise customers with better desktop security management capabilities, according to the company.

CA said it will market Qurb's technology as eTrust Anti-Spam and will incorporate it into its eTrust Management suite.
