Blue Coat, Vasco and AVG acquire companies

Over the past three days, security companies announced acquisitions.

A trio of security companies made acquisitions this week to bolster their offerings.


On Wednesday, Blue Coat Systems California acquired advanced threat protection firm Solera Networks which utilised Big Data intelligence and analytic solutions. 

Authentication solutions provider Vasco Data Security International snared Cronto, maker of secure visual transaction authentication technology for online banking.

And San Francisco-based security provider AVG Technologies on Monday purchased PrivacyChoice, whose core product is a browser extension that allows users to manage their privacy settings across social networking and other sites.
