CFO Survey: Security Key Concern

Security surfaced as a major concern for senior financial officers, according to a survey conducated by Computer Sciences Corporation.

More than half of respondents said identifying the appropriate level of security for information and electronic applications was very critical to their organization.


About two-thirds of those surveyed said they were extremely concerned about industry standards and cost of compliance with legislation such as HIPAA. Half were worried about growing IT security expenditures while only a third believe terrorism against their companies is a real threat.

The sixth annual Technology Issues for Financial Executives study by CSC surveyed 607 respondents, 84 percent of whom are the most senior financial executive in their organization. Nearly all of the repsondents are from the U.S. and Canada.
