Community care provider Anglicare has purchased a subscription to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) email and web security solution covering 1,200 users on its network.

The organisation, which is the urban mission and community care arm of the Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church, said it would implement MessageLabs protection services to safeguard its users.

Kerrie-Anne Turner, managing director of MessageLabs A/NZ, said the SaaS solution was "perfect" for Anglicare because it enabled them to focus on their core mission rather than on IT security.

"It's a ‘set-and-forget' solution to protect all email communications and web surfing from spam and malware," Turner said.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
