But for Bale, the biggest change has been end-user computing. Almost every staff member (1200 so far) has been handed a new HP Revolve laptop convertible, which is now their primary computing device. The company needed to move off its Windows XP SOE, and after trialling various approaches, Bale landed on Windows 8.1 running on the convertible devices.
Bale proved the benefits of her vision to the board by first testing the new approach with the board members themselves - made easier given a number of them are remote workers.
