Instead of the introduction of HCM technology as a threat, it has quickly established itself as a super charger of efficiencies and an enabler of deep personalisation that sustains employees and builds company culture.
HiBob VP for Asia Pacific and Japan, Damien Andreasen, explained that a data rich HCM platform can help solidify strong retention rates and attract the best teams for global growth, at a time when the barriers to both are being tested.
“There's a need for modern platforms that are addressing modern problems. As a fast-growing tech company, the company has been built and designed for global companies and global expansion from Day Dot," he said.
Over the last two years, HiBob has grown from 300 to 750 employees and has doubled in terms of the geographical regions that they are operating in.
“Much like our customers, we have multiple geographies, we have to straddle different cultural norms and languages, different legislations and compliance laws. HiBob was built to solve a lot of those challenges and designed as a people-first platform," he said.
"Not only do you have an area where you understand your daily tasks and workflows, and an overview of who your organisation is, but it really starts to connect the dots with the team.”
The past four years have been a test of resilience for most companies. With global issues, such as the rise of AI, market instability and the ongoing talent crunch, Andreasen said the HR function is pivotal in how an organisation braces for change.
As the next generations of talent enter the workforce, the WFH and hybrid dynamic will be a normal state of play and in many regards, it will be the employee defining the rules of engagement.
He said, “When choosing companies they want to work for, I think that pendulum in terms of where the power lies has shifted and it's because it's still very much a talent-short market.”
Andreasen forecasts that the next generation of workforce is emerging with a very different set of values and a very different relationship with work than older generations have experienced. “If you are not able to attract the best talent, you're not going to be able to perform at the highest levels.”
