Events giant Ticketek says it will offer Google Pay Payments API, which will be available to customers on its app and website from today.

The digital wallet integration is being touted as a way to streamline and speed up the payments process, which can often be a stumbling block for punters looking to get tickets to big events likely to sell out fast.

Virtualisation of credit and debit cards through Google Pay also adds another layer of security to Ticketek’s platform.

The company revealed at AWS’ re:Invent 2018 that an array of other measures to reduce bottlenecks for big events, including the automation of IT provisioning to avoid over- or under-catering for events.

“Ticketek is continuously looking for ways to provide our customers with a great experience when purchasing tickets and our integration with Google Pay offers a simpler, faster payment solution in our app and website,” Ticketek Australia managing director Cameron Hoy said.

“The payment information is protected with multiple layers of security so customers can be assured this experience comes with peace of mind.”
