EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

After many years of sweating out its PSTN cash cow, Telstra CEO David Thodey today admitted that Telstra's copper network is running out of steam as he delivered a $222 million half-year loss.

While Thodey was coy on discussing NBN negotiations, it is becoming increasingly clear that Australia's largest telco needs structural change as much as the wider industry does.
