EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Reporting live from the CeBIT datacentre conference today, iTnews learns of plans for a 15-year, whole-of-government data centre provision panel, and finds out that both Toyota and Westpac are betting on the "cloud".

In fact, Toyota "doesn't see IT assets as being core competitive advantage" and is on a mission to rid itself of any enteprise IT infrastructure within five years.
