EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

You may recall a story in iTnews some six months ago in which our security guru Munir Kotadia reported on a NSW Public Official (from NSW Police, in fact) recommending to a Federal cybersecurity inquiry that internet transactions be conducted on alternative operating systems to Windows.

Six months on, the officer in question wants to clarify his position. This one we need your help on. When somebody says "alternative" operating system, what operating system is it "alternative" too? Were we wrong to assume Windows?
