EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

After close to a week of negotiations, SP Telemedia has finally agreed to splash out $373 million to acquire PIPE Networks.

The deal - which values PIPE well above its current trading price - is an ambitious one that will stretch SP Telemedia's finances.

The company has little over a month to come up with a new debt facility to fund the deal.
