It might be a mere one percent of the size of the giant Square Kilometre Array project, but Australia's ASKAP satellite project still boasts some impressive stats when it comes to crunching data.

The 36-dish network - a little brother to the SKA - will process more data in six hours than what has been collected in the history of radio astronomy to date.
