Executives from Telstra have met with Nick Xenophon and Steve Fielding in an effort to convince the two independent Senators to block legislation aimed at splitting the incumbent carrier.
Shadow Communications Minister Nick Minchin has meanwhile managed to rally the support of his party behind blocking the bill.
