The NSW government has built a mobile application for public transport users to make complaints and report incidents directly to the Transport department.

The 'Feedback2Go' app, which is available for free from today on both iOS and Android, is intended to avoid the headache and queues associated with calling an operator to provide feedback on public transport services.

It offers travellers the ability to take a photo, tag their location, identify their mode of transport, and submit the feedback directly to Transport for NSW.

The app can take feedback on reliability, safety, and cleanliness across train, bus, ferry, light rail, roads, and maritime modes of transport. Users can select whether or not they would like a response.

Status on feedback can be tracked in real-time, the department said. Its policy states it will respond to customers within five days of a feedback request.

“We’re not frightened of feedback or complaints – in fact, we welcome it – and this app is yet another easy option for customers to share their thoughts,” transport minister Andrew Constance said in a statement.

“Whether it’s the good, the bad, or the ugly – we want customers to let us know what they think of the services they’re travelling on and tell us how we can improve."

The app works on devices running iOS 8.3 and Android version 4.0.3 and higher.
