Vodafone claims to have unbundled ‘special pricing’ of its 5 GB wireless broadband offering for all new customers -– but it’s still behind in what has become an ultra-competitive market.

Vodafone struggles with mobile broadband pricing
The telco said in a statement it has ‘returned to its popular price point of $39.95 for 5 GB per month’.

“Previously this pricing was only available to Vodafone customers with a mobile phone and mobile broadband bundle,” Vodafone said.

The company said it has also rolled back the price of its 1 GB plan to $19.95.

New customers on either plan would save an average of $10 per month, Vodafone said.

But the pricing is still only on par – or worse – than that of its rivals, who have been involved in a price per GB war in recent months.

Telstra, Unwired, and iPrimus have all raised limits and dropped prices recently.

In addition, Three is also pricing itself much more aggressively than Vodafone.

Three is offering a 1 GB plan for only $15 per month while for $39 per month they will provide a higher 6 GB data limit.
