IT salaries have seen a big boost in the mining states as major projects fuelled by the boom led an increased need for expertise. Approximately half of all Australian IT workers saw their salary rise between three and six percent in the last year.

And developers descended on Canberra and Sydney over the weekend to show Government departments a thing or two about website accessibility and ease of use. Seven teams shared in the $40,000 prize pool.
