EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

NBN Co has been forced to manually double check inaccurate address data for new rollout areas in what CEO Mike Quigley told Senate estimates was a slow and costly process. With 13.1 million premises in the database, the double checking could take a while.

This morning we also speak to Treasury CIO Peter Alexander about a new data analytics project that will allow the agency's data modellers to easily cross-reference data and produce new reports instantly. Alexander says the project is the forerunner to potential big data initiatives in future.
