Good afternoon,

It's a good day for the open source community - many of which are huddled in Brisbane for Linux.conf.au.

Today we have some more stories and photos from the event, plus the news that Canberra's agencies are now encouraged to consider open source alternatives to commercial software during procurement.

But considering the lax regard most agencies have for procurement guidelines, is it really cause for celebration? Let us know what you think.
