EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

Optus has launched a cheaper alternative to Telstra's T-Touch tablet. Telstra has meanwhile been accused of violating open source licenses whilst developing the T-Hub.

We've also closed off a poll on the front page today which asked who should move to address the stand-off between Apple and Australia's carriers over the lack of warranties available for the second half of two-year iPhone plans.

Of 1140 readers that voted, 83 percent said Apple should change its policy and fall into line with other manufacturers, whilst 17 percent said telcos should absorb the cost.

FEATURED COMMENT

"Way to loose all credibility Gartner. How about you encourage support of tablet/slate style devices? With the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and other devices from companies such as Dell, HP, etc., to be specifically say "support the iPad" is totally inept. "
