EDITOR'S NOTE

Good afternoon,

A huge day of technology news. The Federal Government has submitted an amended Telstra split bill to Parliament.

But this time around, the Government has the support of the management of Telstra - who are recommending shareholders approve an $11 billion agreement between the telco and the Government.

Also today, Liz Tay returns with yet another deep dive into advances in technology research - this time looking at why the capacity of your laptop or smart phone battery degrades after repeated recharges.
