SAP has introduced its hosted Business ByDesign product to Australian users, coinciding with the “second release” of the software suite. The software giant made a brief statement last week that updated its availability in the region.
The suite covered enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business management software.
Prices were role-based and divided into three tiers - self-service, team and enterprise, according to SAP Business ByDesign partner manager for A/NZ Tim Wilkes.
Standard self-service licenses were $11 a user a month, which provided functionality such as time and expense reporting, travel management and editing personal data.
Additional self-service licenses were available for SCM [supply chain management] and project management, each $24 a user a month.
The only class of team license was a 'CRM sales user', priced at $88 a user a month.
Above this were several classes of enterprise license - a standard subscription for $148 a user a month, and a high-end service that also included supply chain management/warehouse functions for $197 a user a month.
The services were hosted at a data centre in Southern Germany, Wilkes said.
The Australian newspaper stated there were no local sales partners and that service support would come from regional SAP offices. When ByDesign was launched in the United States in 2007, SAP positioned it for firms of between 100 and 500 staff.
