Soo Meng Tay moves back to Singapore.

Optus has appointed Günther Ottendorfer to head up its networks division after Soo Meng Tay returned to Singapore to work with parent SingTel.

Ottendorfer was most recently at Deutsche Telekom and had held a variety of roles in Europe, including in Austria and Hungary.

He was to be responsible for the "day-to-day running of all Optus networks as well as further strategic investment in our IP, fixed and mobile network in the lead up to the launch of the National Broadband Network," Optus said in a statement.

Ottendorfer started in the new role immediately.
