Internode scales 3G data plans to 18GB

Boosts interconnection capacity with Optus.

ISP Internode has substantially bumped up its 3G data plans which it underpinned by boosting the capacity of its interconnections with the Optus network.

Where Internode's previous plans stopped at 6GB for $49.95, the new plans scaled up to data quotas of 18GB for $79.95 a month.

And the ISP would now charge a flat rate for data blocks if quota was exceeded - $19.95 for 500MB.

Internode's base plan changed from 500MB for $14.95 a month to 1.5GB for $19.95 a month.

Other plans offered included 5 GB ($29.95 a month), 9GB ($39.95), 12GB ($59.95) and 18GB ($79.95).

The ISP said existing customers would either receive an automatic quota boost or a free upgrade "to one of the improved value plans".

"As well as broadening its range of plans, Internode has quadrupled the capacity of interconnections between the Internode and Optus networks, further improving NodeMobile Data performance, especially during periods of peak demand," a spokesman for the ISP said.
