Jigsaw sells into Samoa

Australian reseller and implementer Jigsaw Services has completed the first phase of a $600,000 contract for Samoa's national telecommunications carrier SamoaTel.

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system would manage about one million payroll and costing transactions per annum which had previously been handled by SamoaTel's legacy systems, the company said.

Andrew McAdams, chief executive at Jigsaw Services, said the implementation was completed in less than nine weeks, which he said was unheard of in the industry.

While there was typically resistance to new IT, acceptance of the system by SamoaTel staff was surprisingly fast, he said.

The leadership of SamoaTel management combined with the empathy of Jigsaw consultants made the transition to the new system smooth, McAdams claimed.

Empathy was essential for working in a different culture and had been crucial in Jigsaw's win of SamoaTel contract, he added.

McAdams said Jigsaw's ability to roll out a system in such a short period of time would help the company pursue further opportunities in the Pacific Island region.

SamoaTel was Jigsaw's first international contract outside Australasia, McAdams said.
