Part of information systems consolidation project.

Mining giant Newcrest has inked a multi-million dollar deal for software to improve metal extraction and gold recovery.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The company, which is Australia's largest gold producer, signed a three-year deal with software developer Mincom this week.

The agreement covers Mincom's production accounting product which it will implement as part of a program aimed at simplyfing the company's technical-mining information and processes by standardising and consolidating its information systems.
