Video: VMware resigns virtual vision for hybrid future

 

Invests in tools for the physical and the virtual server.

The folks at virtualisation kingpins VMware are undergoing a cultural revolution after the purchase of several suppliers of heterogenous server and application management tools.

The software vendor's 'chief cloud executive' told iTnews this week that the company is coming to accept that not every physical server will host virtual machines nor every application run within a virtual machine.

VMware chief cloud executive George Gerchow also described how we expected traditional outsourcers to beat telcos to the punch in gaining traction for enterprise cloud computes.
