iiNet to review ADSL1 plans

Follows Naked DSL quota upgrades.

ISP iiNet has revealed it will review its ADSL1 plans next month following an upgrade to quota limits on a number of home and business broadband plans this week.

Chief executive Michael Malone told iTnews the ADSL1 review is "planned for 20 July".

"We do reviews of our products every six to 12 months based on cost changes and the market," he said.

The Perth ISP launched a series of changes [PDF] to its Home and Business Broadband 2+ and Naked DSL Home and Business plans on Tuesday.

Changes to its Naked DSL Home plans were first noticed by customers who flooded the Whirlpool forums to welcome the news.

While the base Naked DSL Home 1 plan remained unchanged, Home 2 saw its quota limit double from 10 to 20 GB in peak and off-peak periods, for a total quota of 40 GB.

Naked DSL Home 3 users saw the biggest increases with both peak and off-peak quotas rising from 30 GB to 50 GB, giving a new total of 100 GB.

Users of the Naked DSL Home 4 to Home 6 plans also got a total of 20 GB of extra downloads per month.

"We will reassess our current plans in a month, and we may or may not make changes".

And this is so-called news WHY?

I hope iiNet paid for the free advert!

This site is more and more an iiNet fan boi site and less and less NEWS.

Hope they notice what supernerd are offering, 60/120gb for only $10 more than the 40/40 that iinet offer. Actualy i am about to churn over, wondered if it was worth contacting them but i know the answer and if they only go up 10/10 extra then i cant say that would save me going over to supernerd. True its an 8month contract but thats not bad & its about the best value for thoes of us stuck on adsl1. I have noticed the awsome telstra caps with phone line, adsl2+, calls bundles with the Thub but we dont use the home phone (bring out naked please T$ with decent quota & iView)

@peterh_oz "....following an upgrade to quota limits on a number of home and business broadband plans this week."

Thats why its news, the mention of the possible ADSL1 plan changes is ancillary to the main news of the changes to the rest of their plans. Obviously you don't like iiNet for some reason but thats no reason for stupid claims, ITNews is hardly biased towards iiNet.

@peterh_oz,

Spot on mate - this iiNet mob are the masters of spin and free publicity - they have brainwashed the Whirlpool commmunity (by censoring nearly all negative post about them)- they keep a couple of minor negative posts though to "appear to be real".

I have had 5 whirlpool usernames banned because I post facts about IInet that are true on Whirlpool, but negative towards this shonks - how's that for censorship hey !!!

The greatest con of a company for a long long time - all they do is provide an Internet connection - and they aren't even that cheap or provide good service anymore. !!!They even have fanboi's and supporters.

and of course good old Mord supports them - what else would you expect ?

The master of spin, would be a better name for them.

Maybe because you had 5 accounts and acted like a nob is why you got banned lol. Just because ITNews provided such in-depth coverage of the iiNet trial, and the result was a slap in your face does not make them fanboys. Whatever happened between you and iiNet, it's tome for you to let it go mate.

If you don't like the views of the reports, or the posters on web site I'm sure there are other sites more suited to you point of view.

So what they changed they're download quotas. I'm with TPG and they change their quotas etc. Probably every 6months.

No Rhino -I just posted facts, that the FANBOI's and censorship panel did not want to here.
Never abusive nor wrong in fact, but they all got deleted. So much for free speech.

Yeh of course I support iiNet Digger11, i've never hid the fact that ive been a ADSL2+ customer with them for going on lets see over 5 years now, I am very happy with the speed, quality of connection and especially the customer service, and although i've had the occasional issue with them in the past nothing they've never resolved to my 100$ satisfaction once escelated to a senior manager, heck they even let me delay my billing date every single month to suit with my work pay dates without ever being bothered by it. Fact is i haven't had this good service from an ISP since the good old days of Dingo Blue before they got bought out and turned to crap.

So yeh I am an iiNet fanboi if you want to call me that, but at least im upfront about it, always have been. Digger11 over here never even admit that he worked for AFACT or was their fanboi though despite all the evidence to that end, at least im honest about where my loyalties lie though. Digger11 mate your bitterness is getting really tired recently, take a holiday and come back refreshed mate, you take this stuff way too seriously.

I don't get the iiNet hate either. Been with them 18 months and my only complaint would be that they can't get me ADSL2 whereas t$ could. I certainly cannot complain about their customer service, either. Anyway, some people will complain no matter what ..

look likes Whirlpool has got what was due to them - the current denial of servcie attacks are giving Whirlpool back some of its own medicine !

BTW MorddD - you are the one that appears to be hitting the keys harder and harder as you type.....

Peter_H and myself are correct - this is just iiNet Spincrap - you can be gullible and believe all you want Mr Mordd. Doesn't effect the fact that we are correct.

I appear to be hitting the keys harder and harder because I accidentally used a $ sign instead of the % symbol as I intended? You're losing it digger, you are making no sense.

BTW when Telstra, or Internode plan changes are posted as news on here, I don't see you trolling those announcements the same. You're just bitter because you got fired by iiNet right digger, we went through all this in the AFACT trial.
