Speculative post has users talking.

ISP Internode has flagged more changes to a range of its broadband plans this month, in part to counter competition generated by reduced Telstra ADSL prices.

Internode flags broadband plan rework

Managing director Simon Hackett published a post on Whirlpool last night that revealed forthcoming changes to pricing of ADSL, mobile and fibre-based plans.

In particular, he said changes to the ISP's ‘Fast' and ‘Easy Broadband' products were targeted at customers lured by lower Telstra retail prices.

"We think the last two of the list above, in particular, will answer most of the requirements of those who find themselves contemplating the strange (and temporary) experience of seeing BigPond trialling a relatively reasonable value point for ADSL2+ plans," Hackett said.

"And our revised Internode Easy Broadband and Fast plans aren't intended to be a two month campaign - they'll become the new 'normal' offerings in terms of these plan tables."

Hackett hinted that the new plans might be possible due to new Telstra Wholesale rates, but this was unconfirmed at the time of publication - and Hackett wasn't going to be drawn or baited into releasing further details.

Hackett also said Internode would launch a "FetchTV-based IPTV offering" sometime after this month.

Rival iiNet announced a deal with Fetch TV yesterday.

Internode was not the only ISP to be rumouring new plans. Beagle Internet also posted speculatively that it would soon revise its ADSL plans.
