Internode has refreshed its range of broadband plans, following a doubling of its Southern Cross link capacity this month.
Its 'Extreme ADSL2+' range boasted more quota and bundling benefits and featured a new, entry-level 10GB plan.
The Home-Extreme-10 plan would cost $39.95 per month, or $29.95 when bundled with a VoIP service.
For heavier users, Internode also introduced a new 240GB per month plan for $149.95, or $139.95 as part of a bundle. Meanwhile, mid-level plans received quota increases of 10 to 20 GB.
Shaping speeds for users exceeding their quota had been doubled to 128/128 kbps for new Home Extreme and Naked Extreme plans, and 512 kbps with no upload shaping on new SOHO plans.
According to Internode product manager Jim Kellett, the ISP now had a capacity of 10 Gbps on the Southern Cross link, which translated to "cheaper gigabytes in good old Oz".
"ADSL is a pretty dynamic market, and we regular review and adjust the plans on offer," he told CRN, adding that the ISP constantly reviewed its usage, capacity and offerings on a macro level.
Kellett said Internode had already attracted "a lot" of new customers to its Extreme ADSL offerings, and expected demand to increase with the new plans.
Although demand was high, Kellett expected the ISP's staff and systems to be geared accordingly.
"There's no connection delay issues to report," he said, estimating churned accounts to be connected within days, and longer waits for connections that required an engineer visit.
An Internode call centre representative expected waits of up to four weeks for new Naked connections.
