Internode cuts 3G modem prices

Internode has cut the price of its range of 3G modems by $50 for customers that buy them outright.

The modems were already offered for free to customers that signed a two-year NodeMobile data contract.

But from today, Internode dropped the price of its E160E 3G modem from $149 to $99 and E1762 HSDPA/HSUPA modems from from $199 to $149.

The ISP has also launched an antenna to boost reception of its NodeMobile Data wireless broadband service.

Internode product manager Jim Kellett said the lower 3G modem prices reflected the improved strength of the Australian dollar since NodeMobile Data was launched in April.

"We've had great uptake of this service since it was launched and we expect this move to accelerate its adoption," Kellett said.

At the same time, Internode has started offering a $29.95 Panorama 3G antenna to enhance signal reception for customers who use NodeMobile Data in areas of low signal strength.
