CSG wins Victorian schools portal deal

Expects opportunities in other states.

CSG's enterprise services division has signed its largest multi-year contract deploying the Oracle student learning portal to every Victorian school.

The four-year, $64.6 million deal included $47.5 million for the portal, to be completed in the next two years.

CSG said it will also provide "ongoing support" in the form of application hosting, software maintenance, disaster recovery and helpdesk services for two more years.

It would be one of the first systems in the world "to offer such a high level of functionality to students, teachers, parents and administrators", the company said.

"I believe this will also open up significant opportunities in education around the country, where other states are looking to procure similar solutions," said CSG chief executive officer Denis Mackenzie.

He said CSG's managed services division had a strong new business pipeline.
