Woolworths has completed the first phase of an enterprise data warehousing project that will streamline information collection and operational reporting in its Big W retail stores.

The project is led by HP, which is providing the Neoview EDW platform and consulting services.

It also includes Informatica software for data integration, SAS for business analytics and Business Objects for reporting.

HP said that Neoview will enable Woolworths to better capture information from disparate sources and load it into a central repository.

It will provide the retail giant with a single view of critical business information, the company said.

"At Woolworths, enhancing operational efficiency is essential in today's competitive market, and improving our insights into store operations is necessary to take our customer service to the next level," said Geoff Marler, group development manager, Woolworths Limited Group.

"HP is our chosen technology partner to deliver both immediate business value and ongoing business advantage over the long term."
