Dot ME domain names go under the hammer

Drink.ME, employ.ME, tell.ME and film.ME are among 35 generic but “desirable” .ME domains that will be auctioned online by the European web marketplace Sedo later this month.

The .ME registry announced it had partnered with Sedo to handle the domain name sale and posted a full list of those available on the Sedo website.

"All of the .ME names available are words which have two valuable assets: they partner well for advertising purposes and are impossible to forget," the registry said.

Online bidding for the names begins March 26 and remains open until April 2.

Sedo said that .ME domain names "have quickly grown to over 200,000 registrations due to their unique ability to personalise websites to match today's social media culture and offer call-to-action names like pay.ME, promote.ME, or support.ME".

The .ME domain was introduced to the market in June of last year.
