Internode has signed a new wholesale agreement with Telstra that will give it access to about 1,400 exchanges equipped with Telstra ADSL2+ DSLAMs.

The new deal also enables Internode to offer traditional voice line rental services using Telstra’s PSTN lines.

The ISP already offers ADSL2+ broadband services at more than 110 exchanges using its own DSLAM equipment and 350 exchanges through a wholesale agreement with Optus.

It expects to make ADSL2+ services available through Telstra-enabled exchanges from December while national voice line services are scheduled for April 2009.

Pricing and other details will be announced as each service is launched, according to Simon Hackett, managing director at Internode.

"The point here is that Internode ADSL2+ will be everywhere that Telstra is - and then some," said Hackett.

“We hope customers who only have access to Telstra ADSL2+ ports will appreciate the option to move up to an Internode-provided ADSL2+ service at last.

“We look forward to offering all our customers the option of a single Internode bill for their line rental, their phone calls and their broadband services from April 2009," he said.
