Commander 'on track' for sale in October

Commander Communications’ receiver, McGrathNicol, has received more than 150 expressions of interest for the telco service provider.

Rebecca Piercy, associate director at Gavin Anderson (communications representative for McGrathNicol) told CRN, the receiver has had 60 expressions of interest prior to an advertisement put forth for the sale of Commander’s Managed and Professional Services.

“Since then more than 150 expressions of interest have been lodged,” she said.
“Generally the interest has come from telco companies.”

According to Piercy, the receiver was currently going through the shortlist and investigating the due diligence of the bidders.

“It will be on track to announce the sale of Commander by the end of the month,” said Piercy.

“Until it has been sold, it’s still business as usual. During the sales process nothing has changed from the front face of the business.”

Commander announced its decision to go into receivership in early August.
At the time Amanda Lacaze, Commander's managing director and CEO, said the announcement was made "with great regret,” after a spate of debt and credit problems, left the embattled IT&T provider with no other choice.

CRN readers said the announcement, at the time, had caused a ripple of distress in the local IT&T industry .
