The next version of Apple's iTunes software will include high definition video downloads according to a leak reported by Digg main man, Kevin Rose.

Rumours are also rife about new iPods and even a refresh of the Macbook marque, although none of these whispers of things to come have any substance beyond conjecture.

The rumours are based on a secretive event Apple is hosting next week, so something is in the works, just it seems that no-one knows quite what.

Other new features expected to appear in iTunes, which were revealed when a section of the release notes were leaked, include a playlist suggestion system called, in typical self-deprecating Apple style, 'Genius' mode.

The software will automatically create playlists based on previous purchases and the style of music listened to in the past and suggest songs that 'go great together'.

As usual, don't expect any of this stuff to hit international markets until at least three months after the rest of the world.
