ClearCube spins of software arm

ClearCube is spinning off its software business and launching it as a separate company, called VDIworks. VDIworks will focus on desktop management and software the firms said.

According to statements released today, the two firms will work in a complimentary fashion, with an OEM agreement ensuring that ClearCube promotes and markets VDIworks products. It is also expected that the separation will improve relations with other vendors, with each new firm being able to align itself with firms such as VMware in a much more beneficial manner.

Commenting on this arrangement, Rick Hoffman, former president of ClearCube and now president of VDIworks, said, "Both companies immediately offer mature products and can point to successful customer installations.

Both companies benefit from established internal development and sales teams. As a result, both companies present superior solutions that can provide rapid return on investment while improving enterprise security and IT management capabilities."
