Westpac inks $50m payment terminal deal

The supply of its Optimum T4200 terminals to merchants across Australia represents one of the payment industry's largest ever deployments of the kit in the region, the vendor said.

It will commence rollout early next year.

"Westpac's decision to switch to Hypercom represents a huge market share gain for the company in Australia and New Zealand, considerably expands our footprint, and is a superb endorsement of our company and our products," said Jacques-Herve Maupin, the vendor's Asia Pacific managing director.

Hypercom will also service Westpac's entire installed base of more than 80,000 terminals as part of the contract.
