EDITOR'S NOTE

Good morning,

The parliamentary inquiry into IT price discrimination between Australia and global markets is considering whether to mandate the removal of geographic restrictions on websites and online content repositories for Australians. But IT vendors have claimed that doing business online is, in some ways, more expensive than bricks-and-mortar shops.

And the Federal Government's proposed privacy legislation amendments could "unintentionally" make it easier for companies to collect and move user information outside of Australia, according to privacy groups.
